Salt + Light transforms the lives of our Central California neighbors at risk of or experiencing homelessness by fostering community and belonging. We offer dignified housing, essential case management services, purposeful work opportunities, and outreach programs rooted in dignity and radical hospitality.
About
Since 2019, Salt + Light has walked alongside our neighbors experiencing homelessness—meeting urgent needs, building relationships, and offering hope through consistent presence and care.
In September 2024, we opened The Neighborhood Village—the first of its kind in California. This 50-home permanent supportive housing community is a place where neighbors can come home, heal, and rebuild through connection, purpose, and belonging.
Volunteers are vital to this work. From supporting activities at The Neighborhood Village to sharing a special skill—or serving on our food truck, Everyone Eats Today—there are many ways to get involved. Known lovingly as Love on Wheels, the food truck brings meals, essentials, and most importantly, relationship to neighbors surviving on the streets.
At Salt + Light, we believe many hands make light work. Together, we can cultivate community and help our neighbors find healing, hope—and home.
